My work explores the metaphor of liminal space and the human changes to our environment. Through color and line work, I depict the idea of past, present, and future, and the attachment between the built geometric form and the organic form.
How do we react to and interpret the memory of the land? What happens when these architectural structures are abandoned or consumed again by the landscape, and what new forms emerge from nature’s reclaiming? I am interested in how these may also hold an important place in our memory.
Through the abstraction of landscape and elements of drawing, I invite the viewer to contemplate the magnetic and energetic atmosphere of “place,” while acknowledging the visible impact of human intrusion.
