David Miner — Let the Trumpet Sound
2025, Acrylic on cradled board, 30x24x2 in.
My work is an exploration of the beauty, character, and history found in musical instruments. I create highly detailed, photorealistic paintings that invite viewers to look closely at objects that are often familiar, yet rarely seen in this way.
Guitars, drums, and other instruments carry the marks of their makers, their musicians, and the music they have created. Scratches, worn finishes, reflections, and subtle imperfections become part of each instrument’s story. I am fascinated by these details and strive to capture them with the same care that a musician brings to playing an instrument.
Through my paintings, I hope to create a connection between visual art and music while celebrating the craftsmanship, personality, and enduring spirit of these remarkable instruments.
