Dale DuBord — Working on a Tan
2025, Ash wood, 7x23x5.5 in.
Working with downed trees comprised of oak, pecan, and cedar, I first remove the bark, studying the wood grains to find the figure within. I use both power and hand tools to rough-shape the work, followed by copious amounts of hand-sanding to refine the appearance. Works are then hand-rubbed with an oil finish. Most of my work centers around the female figure and hearts.
