An Evening with Benefit the Creator
Join us for two casual artist talks with Benefit the Creator, hosted by Suzy Jones, Executive Director of the ArtCentre of Plano—part conversation, part peek behind the technicolor curtain. In these sessions, he’ll share how his “cowboy poet” persona came to life, how language and symbolism weave through his paintings, and why childlike figures carry such layered, complicated stories.
Midday conversation (January 7, 12:00-1:00): Step away from your day for a relaxed lunchtime talk as Benefit the Creator and Suzy explore process, play, and the curious narratives that shape his work.
Evening gathering (January 16, 6:00-7:00): Return after hours for a more intimate, off-the-cuff discussion about the symbols, patterns, and hidden details you might have missed on your first walk through the galleries.
Both artist talks are free to attend; a $10 donation to the ArtCentre is always appreciated to help support future exhibitions and programs. Come with questions—or just curiosity—and enjoy a fun, informal way to meet the artist and see the exhibition in a new light.
