James Gilbreath: Plano and Beyond

Born and raised in Texas, James’ love of art began in elementary school. Throughout public school he took every art class that was available and there weren’t that many in the fifties and sixties. In the fall semester of high school, 1965, at the age of 16, he finally had a chance to take art classes, where he was introduced to oil painting and his love of art grew to a whole new level. From that point to this he has always had paints, brushes and an easel and has produced paintings in each of those 58 years. He is a member of Plano Art Association and Artists Round Texas. He is also a member of the McKinney Plein Air Society.

James Gilbreath’s studio is in The Rail Station Studios in downtown Plano, www.railstationstudios.com

The exhibition will be on view at the ArtCenter and online beginning Saturday, September 2. An opening reception will be at the ArtCenter on Friday, September 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
