Sarah Carson is truly a remarkable photographer with an eye that sees where the rest of us should be looking. She reminds us to look beyond the obvious—to not focus on what everyone else is focusing on. Through Drew, Sarah’s adult son, we really get to know Sarah. She is a mother first, and then a photographer but together…they are artists. The parallel in their works of art is simply… uncanny. Similar images, shapes, likenesses. So many connections you would think that Sarah and Drew worked often in the same studio, rather than on different sides of the country. Are these connections with their works of art coincidence? Are Sarah and Drew connected as Mother and Son? There are also many differences in their work. Sarah’s images are shown mostly in black and white, while Drew’s are in vibrant colors. Drew creates hard lines, while Sarah captures soft natural landscapes. But the similarities are what create the connections and capture the TWO GENERATIONS: Sarah Carson/Drew Carson.
